DUET NEWS

DUET NEWS: Big Loud’s powerhouse country songstress Ashley Cooke is teaming up with global superstar Joe Jonas for an unforgettable heartbreak anthem that cuts deep with “All I Forgot” feat. REBECCA LYNN HOWARD

Rebecca Lynn Howard

REBECCA LYNN HOWARD: Two-time Grammy and IBMA winner Rebecca Lynn Howard — songwriter who has written hits for country royalty and “possesses one of country music’s most powerful voices” (Billboard) — has released the music video to her Jan. 24 “Heart Still Does,” an upbeat track from her forthcoming album, I’m Not Who You Think I Am, (May 2, Pump House Records).

The video was shot at “The Underdog” in Nashville and was directed and produced by Olivia Quin. Making a cameo in the buoyant clip is Elisha Hoffman, Howard’s husband and producer of her forthcoming album. Pre-save I’m Not Who You Think I Am here. Listen to “Heart Still Does” here and watch the music video here.

Of the song’s concept, Howard says, “Laughter is the best medicine, and when I hear ‘Heart Still Does’ I can’t help but cackle. One of my favorite things to do in writing a song is to take a somewhat serious topic like love-gone-wrong and see if there’s any way to lighten it up. This one hits that way for me for sure. It’s a song I think will give folks who may be going through a bad heartbreak a little solace and maybe help them see their circumstance in a different light. Sometimes resilience comes through not taking yourself so seriously.” More at RebeccaLynnHoward and on social media. #RebeccaLynnHoward

Ringo Starr perms at the Grand Ole Opry

OPRY NEWS: Multi-Grammy Award winner Ringo Starr made his debut on the Grand Ole Opry Feb 21. The appearance was a part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th Anniversary celebration and in support of his new country album, Look Up. The Academy Award winner and two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee was surprised onstage with an invitation to play the Opry by his friend and Opry member Emmylou Harris during Starr’s sold-out concerts at The Ryman Auditorium in January.

“As you may have noticed I dressed up a bit tonight. I’m a cowboy inside,” Ringo said from the Opry stage wearing a slick white cowboy hat. “This is a great honor and an incredible moment for me. It’s just a dream to end up here.”

Starr’s lifelong love of country music has been apparent and celebrated throughout his illustrious career. He performed and wrote numerous country and country-tinged songs throughout his years with The Beatles (i.e. “Act Naturally,” “What Goes On,” “Don’t Pass Me By”) as well as with the earlier Rory Storm and The Hurricanes, and recorded a country album, Beaucoups of Blues, in 1970 as his second solo album. His love of Country and the Blues led him to try and emigrate from London to Texas while still a teen, after reading that Lightnin’ Hopkins lived in Houston.  More info on the Opry’s anniversary year at opry.com.

I always include ‘Help Me Make It Through the Night’ in my live set because it allows me to sing with raw honesty,” Bosko shares. “It’s a masterclass in songwriting—stripped down to nothing but truth, longing and vulnerability.”

“Help Me Make It Through The Night” follows the acoustic version of current chart-climbing single “Better Than You (After Hours)” with multi-Platinum selling traditionalist Joe Nichols. BOWMAN

BOWMAN: Indie country recording artist, Bowman (Kino Mas Entertainment), known for “shakin’ things up,” is rolling out of his “Deuces Wild” Series.   Pushing back against predictability, Bowman appeals to audiences entertained by the unpredictable.  The 2025 “Deuces Wild” Waterfall Series, produced by Johnny Garcia (lead guitarist for Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood), features back-to-back recordings showcasing Bowman’s versatile talents to deliver music that embraces and conveys his personality and colorful performance style. Igniting the series launch, Bowman kicks it into high gear with the release of the gritty blue-collar pride anthem, “Country Money” and turns the temperature to slow things down with the sultry follow-up single, “Keep On Lovin’ You”.

“The song’s about what middle-class blue collar folks to do to earn a buck–getting hands dirty, ‘turning grain into greenback’ and keeping cash in a Folgers’ coffee can,” notes Bowman. “Having grown up as a third-generation plumber, I can relate. But it’s also a prideful song and that’s what drew me. The production is gritty, backwoods country with a little bit of funk.”

Bowman will follow with four more tunes in the “Deuces Wild” series; with Deck II recordings (“Shakedown”/”Give Me One Reason”) dropping in in March and April, followed by Deck III (“Carnival”/”Boom”) dropping in June and July 2025.  More about Bowman and his music at his website,TikTokInstagram and on Spotify.

The uptempo song was released February 14, 2025 on Grindstone Recordings via STEM. Listen/Add it here.

“I wouldn’t have the career I have without the incredible support of country radio,” said Craig. “So many program and music directors, consultants and other leaders in the format have been asking when we’re going to give them something new to play, and we feel like this is the perfect song.”

Initially released on his 2018 See You Try album, “Missing You” has been a fan favorite for many years. The song was written by Jonathan Singleton, Barry Dean and Dave Barnes. Craig recorded the updated version of the song that explores the feelings of longing and regret after a breakup.
